Welcome to an open-ended series of blogs where I share recollections of some of my most memorable wildlife photography experiences, striking a balance between describing the location, the fieldcraft and the photographic techniques used.
Turning a hobby into a profession has proved a steep learning curve in which I have had to significantly raise my game. Taking stunning wildlife images rarely happens by accident and on the way to achieving this, I have made many mistakes. One shortcut to developing photographic or any expertise is to learn from mistakes made by others. I hope other wildlife photographers can derive some benefit from my learning.
My first blog describes my recent experience visiting the incredibly remote Scottish Island of St Kilda.
I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to ask questions or just post a comment.
