Guardian Photographer of the Year 2017

Display in the offices of The Guardian newspaper, London 2018 including the monthly winners (‘Floating on Sand’ and ‘British Summer Evening’) and third place overall in the 2017 awards (‘British Summer Evening’)- below:

British Summer Evening

This dramatic opportunity at Sandsend in North Yorkshire was created by combination of winds and high tide. It took some patience to get this image and I was soaked in the process by a wave hitting me from behind!

This image won Guardian Photograph of the Month in July 2017 and came third overall in the same year, described by the judge, Paul Goldstein as a, “winner by a mile. Brilliant work.”
